A Little Blue (on a Rainy Day) demo

A Little Blue (on a Rainy Day) Final, oil on canvas, 24 x36

I began this painting on a rainy Saturday a few weeks ago. I don’t know what possessed me to do such a complicated painting on a large canvas (24 x 36). It took a lot longer than I anticipated but all in all, I’m pretty pleased with it. It is an eclectic collection of bottles and vases, scarves and a variety of flowers. Colors were basically blue, yellow, pink and greens. In some cases, such as the wall behind the set up, I chose to emphasize the blue shadows than as they really appeared (see photo of the still life set up). I’m also including the still life set up before and after photos. I’m afraid that three weeks hasn’t been very kind to flowers.
