Grand Canyon Moran Point – Demonstration

I had a fabulous time visiting the Grand Canyon last month for the first time.  I fell in love with the place.  The view constantly changes with the time of day and weather.  This is a view from Moran Point overlook.  I loved the gnarly old trees which look as if they were born old. I could paint in the Grand Canyon for a hundred years and still not run out of subjects to paint.

I painted a watercolor on this spot but the oil painting was created in my studio.  It is 18 x 24 and for once, not on a toned canvas.
